Description
White Sage (Salvia apiana) is the silver-leaved sacred sage of the California coast. Aromatic, felted foliage forms a 1 m (3 ft) mound topped in summer by tall spikes of white flowers that bees work relentlessly – the species name apiana literally means of the bees. Leaves are traditionally dried for smudging and incense.
